Highest-income metropolitan statistical areas in the United States

The United States Bureau of the Census defines 280 metropolitan statistical areas. They are listed below in descending order by median household income. This is only one measure of affluence and not necessarily the most suitable for all purposes. Different measures, such as mean income per capita, would produce different lists.
