Excerpt: Welcome to the twenty- seventh edition of the Food Safety and Quality Update. We appreciate the feedback we have received from the previous issues and welcome any new feedback as well. Information Now Available On-line International Portal on Food Safety, Animal and Plant Health- launch of Version 2.0 Version 2.0 of the portal has recently been released, including a number of improvements: 1) up-to-date information on the Codexestablished maximum residue limits (MRLs) for veterinary drugs and pesticides, as well as the JECFA and JMPR evaluations of these substances. 2) improved full-text searching and navigating by information type (such as legislation, regulations, scientific evaluations including risk analyses, notifications, guidelines, reports and specifications). 3) a help desk for any questions users may have regarding the portal.
