Excerpt: This report presents the results of our review of statistical information that reflects activities of the Criminal Investigation (CI) function from Fiscal Years (FY) 1999 through 2003. The overall objective of this review was to provide statistical information and trend analyses of the CI function statistics since the issuance of the Webster Report in April 1999. The audit was conducted as part of the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration?s Fiscal Year 2004 Annual Audit Plan.
